K5 Spasm
The K5000 is an additive synthesizer. It builds sounds by adding many discrete waveforms together each having it's own volume and pitch. This method of synthesis sounds very distinct and some accuse it of sounding too digital. It's a very clean sound which can sit well in busy mixes. The K5000's formant filter gives modulateable realtime control over 128 bands opening up unusual sonic sculptures. Voted the #1 new age synth by us and it's good for sound hackers too. If you don't like New Age music and aren't into S&M (synthesizers and MIDI) then you should probably avoid this box.
